Very Good
Pros
Camera
Versatile quad 50MP camera system: The comprehensive four-camera 50MP setup delivers a well-rounded and flexible imaging experience within a slim device profile.
Strong main and portrait camera performance: The main sensor and portrait capabilities stand out with consistently strong and often excellent results.
Performance
Strong everyday flagship performance: Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, the phone delivers fluid, responsive, and often superb performance in daily use and short intensive bursts.
Design
Premium engineering and slim design: The device presents itself as a meticulously engineered piece of hardware with a refined, high-end construction, maintaining a notably thin and lightweight profile without sacrificing structural integrity.
IP68 and IP69 durability: The inclusion of IP68 and IP69 certification ensures strong protection against dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure water exposure.
Display
Outstanding 165Hz LTPO AMOLED display: The LTPO AMOLED panel operating at up to 165Hz delivers exceptional brightness, fluidity, responsiveness, and a truly top-tier visual experience.
Battery
Potential for excellent battery life: Depending on usage patterns, the phone can comfortably last a full day and deliver genuinely impressive stamina.
50W wireless charging support: The device supports up to 50W wireless charging via Motorola’s dedicated dock.
Software
Clean software with long-term updates: Hello UI offers a largely clean and modern interface with useful extras, backed by a long-term update commitment that enhances ownership longevity.
Audio
Loud stereo speakers tuned by Bose: The stereo speakers tuned by Bose produce loud, high-quality sound with convincing room presence.
Connectivity
Advanced connectivity features: Broad connectivity including Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-Wideband support, and a desktop mode enhances wireless performance and productivity versatility.
Cons
Camera
Cameras not class-leading: While very competent and in many cases excellent, the camera system does not push into unqualified dominance in its segment.
Performance
Aggressive thermal throttling: Under sustained heavy workloads, the device prioritizes thermal control and reduces performance noticeably, leading to inconsistent long-session output.
Does not lead performance at its price: While capable, the chipset does not clearly lead the competitive field within its price segment.
Design
Rear panel feels less premium: The rear panel feels less convincing compared to the rest of the construction and comes across as slightly slippery in hand.
Divisive curved front glass: The curved front glass contributes to a streamlined silhouette but will not appeal to everyone.
Battery
Battery life varies with usage: Under heavier workloads, endurance becomes more limited, making longevity highly dependent on how the device is used.
Wireless dock no longer available: The required Motorola dock for 50W wireless charging is no longer available, reducing the practicality of this feature.
Software
Pre-installed apps and occasional clutter: The interface includes a noticeable amount of pre-installed software, can appear busy at times, and AI-related elements feel somewhat messy.
Signature Club not yet available: The Signature Club component is currently unavailable, leaving a gap in the intended ecosystem experience.
Audio
Audio lacks punch: Despite good clarity and volume, the speaker presentation can lack a certain impact and forcefulness.
Connectivity
No eSIM in some regions: Lack of eSIM functionality in certain markets may be a practical limitation depending on user requirements.
